RFHS Cavalcade Yearbook 2009-2010

"Going Green: RFHS Students Making an Impact"

Recycle

"Going Green" is more than just a marketing gimmick, it's a new movement being embraced by the nation.  People are waking up to the not-so-new idea of environmentalism and the impact that we as a people are making on our planet.  However, this new mindfulness of our impact has begun to reach into other areas of our lives.  President Obama has called everyone to action through community service and young people all over our country are being asked to volunteer in their communities.  Rock Falls is no different.  Students at RFHS, as well as the staff, have begun to look closely at themselves and their impact on the world and their community.  This year's yearbook will be dedicated to that spirit of introspection.  Green is more than the color associated with the environment, its a color we associate with Rock Falls High School and we want to document how GREEN is making an impact.  We will take a look at the environmental movement globally and locally as well as the volunteering activities of RFHS students.  So we challenge you: RFHS students.  "Get involved, get active and volunteer!" And we want to know about it.

Anyone with information on volunteering opportunities for RFHS students should contact Yearbook Sponsor Heather Shore at shoreh@rfhs301.org
